The Carebear Initiative Because we care.
Building a bear collective for LGBTQIA+ solidarity and care.

A safe space for queer people.
Bears have long been celebrated as an inclusive community, a space built on body positivity, care, and belonging. But too often, that inclusivity stays at the level of intention. Racism, transphobia, misogyny and body-shaming still exist within bear spaces, and we rarely see our community actively showing up against it.
We want to change that.
Supporting a whole community.
We help LGBTQIA+ collectives with the logistical work that often goes unseen: setting up events, batch cooking for gatherings, supporting elderly LGBT people, and more.

We’re trained and armed with love.
Trained, recognizable Carebears present at queer events, available for a hand, a hug, or a listening ear. No one should feel alone in our spaces.
