About what we do.
Fostering safe and welcoming bear spaces
At parties, bars and gatherings, Carebears are trained and recognizable, there for whoever needs support. That might mean helping a shy person feel welcome, hearing out someone who experienced aggression, guiding someone who had too much to drink towards the right support, or simply being a warm, visible presence that says: this community cares about you.

Giving logistical support to LGBTQIA+ collectives
Too many queer collectives disappear because they can’t sustain the behind-the-scenes work alongside their core mission. Carebears step in to help: setting up tents and stages at events, batch cooking for gatherings like transkids summer camps or association assemblies, accompanying elderly LGBT people in care homes, and more. What we take on is decided collectively, based on our availability and what matters most.
Where we come from.
The Carebears were created by Pavel, Mr Bear Belgium 2026, as part of his mandate, and with the support of the Belgium Bear Pride. However, the Carebears don’t come from anywhere. Feminist and queer spaces have a long history of setting up care and safety groups at events and we build on that tradition. Our training is developed in partnership with A Nous la Nuit, a feminist association founded in 2022 following a series of sexist aggressions in Belgian nightlife. They have since become a key voice in inclusive and safe practices, working with venues like Kultura, the Théâtre de Liège, and La Nature Festival.
We learn from feminist and queer experiences to bring genuine inclusivity into bear spaces, and we are committed to the idea that there is no LGB without TQIA+.
And who we are.
This is our team of Carebears. Ready to take you in their fuzzy arms .
